Nice Place
We spent 1 night in Emeraude Kivu hotel in June 2022. The lodge belongs to the famous author Eugène Rutagarama who wrote the excellent book « Le regard du gorille » The location of hotel is excellent, being located very close to Kivu lake in a very fine garden We had a room at the first floor with a terrace with a wonderful panoramic viewpoint on Kivu lake. The rooms are very well equipped and clean; the beds are very comfortable. Excellent hospitality of the staff. From the terrace of the restaurant, we had a breathtakine panoramic viewpoint on Kivu lake. The food was also excellent. Altogether, I HIGHLY recommend to stay in Emeraude Kivu hotel, which is a small paradise in Rwanda. More

From the deck of the restaurant or your room a fantastic view over the lake is guaranteed! Rooms and hotel nicely decorated, with friendly and helpful staff. When leaving at 4 am for chimp trekking tea was ready,as well freshly made take away breakfast!
Good Choice
We stayed here on Lake Kivu when we were doing the chimpanzee tracking and Canopy Walk in Nyungwe National Park. Our room was an enormous suite and overlooked the lake. We had a balcony that was extremely comfortable to sit out on and relax and enjoy the view of the lake. Their restaurant food was very good, and the restaurant also overlooks the lake. On the morning we were leaving at 5:00 am for chimpanzee tracking they packed a hot breakfast for us to take with us. Highly recommend staying here.
